An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Assessment Unit (MHAU) for a Senior Nurse Practitioner.

The Mental Health Assessment Unit (MHAU) provides a single point of access to an integrated, community asset-based approach to care. Our aim is to support patients in effectively self-managing their lives and health, reducing distress and improving overall functioning. We work closely with partner agencies to ensure an efficient and compassionate journey through mental health services.

As a member of the MHAU team, you will:

* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including mental state and risk assessments (suicide, self-harm, violence) within a holistic framework.
* Work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Make sound clinical decisions in complex and challenging situations.
* Undertake nurse-led assessments and joint assessments with medical colleagues, including Police Section 297 assessments.
* Provide a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, and NHS 24.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have a high level of knowledge and experience in assessing major mental illness and psychological distress.
* Demonstrate excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
* Be confident working independently and as part of a team.
* Be flexible and committed to working a 24-hour shift pattern.

You must have full current registration with the UK NMC as a Mental Health Nurse.
