Job description
This permanent role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of on-site and remote work. Our client's state-of-the-art engineering facility supports all stages of the landing gear lifecycle, from development and testing to production, assembly, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Integrate mechanical and/or hydraulic systems on the landing gear
2. Plan engineering activities alongside the Engineering Group Leader and Programme Chief Engineer to ensure successful development and certification of the landing gear system
3. Provide technical oversight of equipment supplier requirements and liaise with suppliers to ensure project progress
4. Generate System/Equipment Requirements Definitions, Validation Matrices, Verification Matrices, and other deliverables required by the Validation & Verification process
5. Write Declarations of Design Performance documentation
Job Objectives:
6. Liaise with other engineering functions to generate and validate requirements for major modifications to in-service landing gear programmes
7. Understand the product breakdown structure and the verification means and evidence used to certify the product
8. Collaborate with Design and Analysis, and Performance and Dynamics teams to appreciate the design process and key design drivers
9. Work with Safety and Reliability engineers to assess and communicate the impact of requirement updates on existing and new designs
10. Potentially undertake performance and dynamics, and/or safety analysis for modifications
11. Assist the SAI team in delivering early requirements and architecture concepts for new bids
12. Aid the architect in liaising between different divisions to understand functional allocation and integration activities
Job Requirements:
13. Degree in Engineering or a related field, though alternative qualifications (i.e. HND) will be considered with relevant industry experience
14. Experience in systems engineering, preferably within the aerospace industry
15. Strong understanding of mechanical systems integration
16. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
17. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
