This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.
The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
We require an experienced DDSL/ family worker to join our alternative provision school. Candidates should have a passion for learning, be highly motivated, work well as part of a team, and be committed to engaging with pupils in a positive, calm and caring way.

This post is for 35 hours a week.
The Workplace School has now been renamed as East Sussex Skills Academy and joined London South East Academies Trust since the 1st April 2026. We are in an exciting period of development as we continue to shape our school. You will have the opportunity to work with forward‑thinking staff and join a highly experienced Trust.
We are looking for enthusiastic, kind, caring, resilient and dedicated people to join our team. We will offer induction training for new staff and provide ongoing CPD for our team in order to ensure we are all at the forefront of educational thinking, with the children at the heart of all we do.
We are committed to safeguarding children; successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
