Established for 20 years, J&L are a leading supplier of high-quality lift equipment for use in the modernisation of existing lifts and in new lift design. We are the UK agents for some of the world's most recognised brand names such as LiftEquip, Cobianchi, MGTI, Hans Jungblut, Switch and more. We work closely with lift installation companies, architects, designers and consultants to provide the best technical solutions available for our customers.
The company is employee owned ('EO'), having been established originally by a lift industry expert of over 45 years' experience. Following the considerable growth and success of the company, it was placed into employee ownership by the founders, in June 2021, under the current board and management team.
The company's EO status allows for profit sharing with all employees, on a partial tax-free basis. The current management team have over 40 years' experience in the lift industry and have grown both sales and profits successfully in the last 3 years, along with a small, but developing, wider team.
What will the role of
Technical Sales Engineer involve?
A
s Technical Sales Engineer you will receive comprehensive product training and support
working closely with the other members of the team to produce high quality engineering solutions. The Technical Sales Engineer will be required to network, build relationships and secure orders across our product range.
Key responsibilities for the role will include but are not limited to: -
· Establish a robust sales opportunity lead network
· To seek out, identify and target prospective existing and new customers
· Create a suitable sales pipeline of opportunities
· Maintain accurate detailed records of activities
· Arrange and conduct pre-sale site surveys and meetings including technical assessments of equipment
·
Recommend tailored modernisation solutions for ageing systems
· Regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK
· Ability to read and interpret consultant specifications for quotation purposes
· Provide accurate and timely quotations to customers
· Provide regular reports and updates on activity
· Liaise with customers, attend meetings and present J&L product portfolio
· Promote the Vision and Values of J&L
To succeed in this role you must also possess the following attributes and qualifications: -

Previous experience coupled with p
rofessional or technical qualifications within the lift industry
· Be organised, able to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
· Customer focused
· Technically minded with the ability to identify and solve problems and work well under pressure
· Hard working with the ability to go the extra mile
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills; written, over the phone and personally
· High level of IT literacy
· Ability to listen and articulate effectively
· Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
· UK Drivers licence essential

38 hours per week working, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:30am to 3pm Friday.
