About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach a specialism at Key Stage 5. You will deliver lessons that combine theory with practical investigation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly Key Stage 5)
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons with practical experiments
* Supporting pupils in developing scientific knowledge and enquiry skills
* Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
* Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations
* Contributing to curriculum development within the department
* Supporting extracurricular science activities and enrichment opportunities
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
* Be confident delivering both practical and theoretical lessons
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Be passionate about science education and pupil achievement
* Work effectively within a collaborative department
