An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Fife Early Career GP Fellowship
• Are you a recently qualified GP looking for an exciting career start?
• Are you looking for an opportunity to get some more experience in General Practice, Urgent Care (Out of Hours) and a chosen speciality?
• Do you want some dedicated paid time to focus on professional development activities?
• Do you want to develop your skills? If so, we want you!
The Early Career GP Fellowship Scheme is supported by the Scottish Government and with the National Framework to provide a two-year programme for newly qualified GPs working substantively in general practice, including funded mentorship, CPD opportunities and rotational placements through Urgent Care (Out of Hours) and a speciality.
The programme provides a structured, supportive environment for newly qualified GPs within their first five years post-CCT, enabling them to develop clinical confidence, explore specialist interests, and gain experience in both in-hours and OOH general practice.
You will have:
• Minimum 4-6 sessions per week in in-hours general practice
• Up to 3 sessions per week in OOH general practice.
• Up to 1 session per week in a specialist interest setting, relevant to local population needs and the fellow’s own interest.
• Minimum 1 session per month CPD, with fellows encouraged to utilise NES CPD Connect, PBSGL, and participate in First5 and RCGP Scotland networks.
Fellows will be employed by NHS Fife and deployed into practices.
