Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner – Wigan Talking Therapies
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the Wigan Talking Therapies team on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
Deliver evidence-based, low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression, as part of a dynamic integrated Step 2 and 3 team. Provide close support from management and senior PWPs, ensuring high-quality clinical practice and professional growth. Work within the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, embedded in a local integrated network of mental health and wellbeing services across Wigan.
Working hours
* Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8pm and before 6am
* All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight)
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree level education in psychology, social sciences, or health, demonstrating psychological mindedness.
* Recognised PWP qualification e.g., Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Practice Interventions for Mental Health (APIMH) or equivalent Accredited with BABCP/BPS.
* Diploma or Master’s in APIMH or equivalent.
Experience
* Competent delivery of low intensity CBT for common mental health disorders with evidence of good clinical outcomes.
* Experience of delivering groups for common mental health disorders, including engaging traditionally under‑represented groups.
