Enhanced Teaching Assistant Grade 5 £25 584 - £27 711 pro rata Full Time, Term Time Only Temporary – required from September 2025 until August 2026 The Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team, who can support children’s learning across all key stages including Early Years. The temporary post will be reviewed 31st August 2026 The successful applicant must have: • Excellent standards of Numeracy and Literacy • Recent experience of working with SEN pupils to support their learning and progress • Excellent knowledge and understanding of child development and an understanding of a range of Special Educational Needs. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills • Empathy, care, patience and understanding • Team player qualities and a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life Key responsibilities will include: • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups • Support the class teacher • Liasing with the class teacher and SENCO to understand and reinforce each child’s support plan • Breaking learning down into small steps and developing strategies to help children remember and make progress • Keeping records, making assessments and feeding back to teachers • Motivating and encouraging pupils to be the best they can be • Adapting resources to suit the needs of individuals • Preparing activities • To support pupils in using specialist equipment where needed • Working within school policies and risk assessments Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
