This is a blended position, involving responsibilities as both an HLTA and, at times, a Teaching Assistant. Key responsibilities You will play a vital role in teaching and learning across our small school in both the role of HLTA and TA. As a Teaching Assistant: Engaging with pupils individually and in small groups supporting in class and delivering interventions As a HLTA: Cover teaching 3 afternoons a week for PPA time (in year 2 and key stage 2) under the direction of class teachers Providing additional planned and emergency cover for teacher absence and release Teaching our small year 2 class of 14 children on a Friday You will have: confidence in leading whole-class teaching. experience as a TA if wishing to progress to HLTA a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies excellent communication and interpersonal skills an ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
