We're Henry's Smokehouse in Greenhalgh – the family-run spot slinging authentic Texas BBQ that's got the North West buzzing (yep, that viral brisket magic and massive community outpouring). As we gear up for our epic food truck launch and amp up deliveries, we're hunting for a Head Chef Designate to step up alongside our Pit Boss/Owner and current Head Chef (who's heading out late This is a serious role - with serious growth for someone already hands-on in a similar BBQ/smokehouse gig, or a junior Head Chef/senior sous chef ready for a fresh challenge—salary dependent on experience, but expect a competitive package that rewards your skills.
You'll dive into the fire: mastering low-and-slow offsets, overseeing ops like stock, our new delivery project, Events & Food truck projects, while owning a chunk of daily kitchen flow right in the thick of the action. What we're after:
* Proven chef chops in BBQ/smokehouse or high-volume kitchens (offsets a bonus).
* Ops wizardry: organized, problem-solver, ready to tackle food truck setup and delivery tweaks.
* Passion for real, locally sourced meats and that southern hospitality vibe.
* Team player who thrives in a bustling, family-feel spot—ideal if you're a hands-on pro or stepping up from junior Head Chef/senior sous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate the main line with confidence, preparing high-quality dishes with a focus on grills and smoked meats.
* Maintain high standards of due diligence, ensuring food safety and quality control at all times.
* Work at pace in a fast-moving kitchen, staying calm and unflappable under pressure.
* Contribute to our authentic smoking techniques, using various woods for bold flavours (smoked meat experience a plus).
* Bring the smoke at any one of our festivals / events held with our new food truck
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a kitchen manager / supervisor on a main line, with strong grill skills; smoked meat experience useful.
* Multi unit management useful | Deliveries/Venue/Food truck/Events
* Demonstrated ability to uphold high due diligence standards and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Outstanding attendance record, critical for weekend shifts.
* Minimum of one year with a previous employer in similar role to demonstrate reliability.
