Assistant I & C Engineer
Signalling & Telecoms (S&T) provide cost‑effective engineering solutions for railway signalling projects throughout the UK. As a team we manage the full project life cycle and complete all aspects of design, project engineering, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance support across all signalling technologies, equipment and systems. We also provide design, supply, install and test services for operational and lineside telecommunication renewals, either as a single discipline provider, or as part of multidisciplinary project, to ensure end‑to‑end connectivity.
Responsibilities
* Support Telecoms installation and commissioning activities allocated within projects.
* Support Lead Telecoms Tester (and/or other supporting installation & testing roles) for all projects.
* Support Telecoms Engineering team in ensuring continuous improvement of installation and test activities to realise cost & programme efficiencies.
Required knowledge & qualifications
* Knowledge of Telecoms Railway Systems.
* Demonstrated installation and testing competence in accordance with standards/regulations.
* Holding an HNC/HND qualification and/or relevant IRSE licences and competencies.
Technical skill focus
* Voice – Concentrators / Telephony.
* Transmission Systems (FTN/FTNx).
* Cables – Copper / Fibre / Data.
* SISS related equipment – PA, CIS, CCTV.
* Standby Power Supplies – AC / DC.
