Simpson Judge Ltd are partnered with a high-growth, PE-backed insurance group in London that’s looking for a bright, commercially minded Finance Analyst to join its expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to step into a fast-paced, data-driven environment where finance plays a key role in shaping strategy and performance.
You’ll take ownership of cost reporting and analysis across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders and department heads to provide meaningful insight that supports smarter decision-making. This is a hands-on, visible role with exposure to both the finance leadership team and private equity investors — ideal for someone looking to develop their analytical and business partnering skills in a dynamic, growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and deliver cost base reporting for the Group, ensuring accuracy and insight in monthly results.
* Partner with budget holders to track performance against plan and drive accountability.
* Produce detailed variance analysis, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
* Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
* Maintain and develop cost allocation models and reporting tools.
* Contribute to board and investor reporting packs, providing clear and concise commentary.
* Identify and deliver process improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Candidate Profile:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) — newly qualified or up to 2 years’ PQE.
* Strong analytical mindset and confident using Excel and financial modelling tools.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders.
* Commercially focused, detail-driven and proactive in approach.
* Experience in insurance, financial services or a PE-backed business is desirable but not essential.
* Ambitious, team-oriented and keen to progress in a high-growth environment.
