In your role you will be technical lead for Mechanical engineering advisory and design services on healthcare projects. You will also oversee the delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and high- quality advisory services and design solutions for Mechanical building engineering services systems. To succeed in this role, you must be confident facing clients and have excellent working knowledge for the delivery of Hospital/Healthcare projects as well as their Mechanical building services installations. Candidates should have achieved or have qualifications which will lead to MCIBSE or MIHEEM or MIMechE accreditation; candidates should also have and a thorough understanding of digital design tools appropriate to the role, including delivery through Revit/BIM 360.

Your new role
As our new Mechanical Associate, you will be part of our growing UK team working on healthcare projects throughout the UK and internationally. You will have the opportunity to thrive in technical delivery excellence and develop excellent understanding of client care.
We offer flexible working arrangements with candidates able to work from any of our primary offices as well as home. We have an exciting range of ongoing projects including Hillerod Hospital Denmark, Cambridge Children’s Hospital, Kettering General Hospital and KEMH, Falklands Islands.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Lead, develop and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers and technicians, working collaboratively with colleagues from other engineering disciplines, e.g. structural, electrical and public health engineers, etc
2. Positively raise with external clients and project team collaborators, the profile and reputation of Ramboll and our UK Healthcare Team
3. Develop and oversee Mechanical concepts and design solutions
4. Undertake detailed design to required standards, and complete design calculations using industry software such as MagiCad, IES, Revit, etc
5. Inspire and enthuse the engineers and technicians working with you on your projects
6. Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
7. Support key accounts and developing relationships with new clients
8. Support our UK Healthcare team sector business development strategies
9. Implement best practice procedures to enhance and maintain delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and quality advisory and design services
10. Manage your own projects and act as MEP or Mechanical engineering project manager to allocate resources and co-ordinate tasks

11. Must have demonstratable experience in Mechanical design engineering on UK projects, preferably healthcare or complex, technically challenging, high resilience projects
12. Proven discipline/project leader that drives a high performing, collaborative and inclusive culture
13. Educated to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
14. MCIBSE, MIMechE or MIHEEM (or with qualifications that support achieving relevant corporate membership)
15. A thorough understanding of digital design delivery through Revit/BIM 360
16. Excellent and demonstratable project management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects of varying size and complexity
17. Understanding of project commercial and technical risks
18. Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts to our clients and project team partners in plain language, verbally and in writing
19. Able to motivate and inspire confidence both internally and externally across geographical borders
20. Able to work autonomously on all technical aspects of the discipline
