We’re hiring Project Planners to join our high-performing Planning & Controls team. With several key roles available, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a business-critical function supporting the delivery of our capital maintenance programmes Job Overview As a Project Planner, you’ll work closely with Project Managers and Contractors to build, manage, and maintain high-quality project schedules. You’ll ensure projects run on time, within budget, and in line with our contractual and operational standards. Responsibilities will include: Creating and managing schedules in P6, ensuring alignment with Southern Water’s internal planning standards. Collaborating with contractors to agree updates and changes before formal submission. Ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements and supporting the management of compensation events. Engaging with delivery teams and stakeholders, both on-site and remotely, to gather updates and maintain schedule accuracy. Representing Planning in meetings with senior internal stakeholders and external partners, providing clear insight into timelines and project progress. Championing communication, acting as a key bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. About You We’re looking for experienced, confident planners who can bring structure and clarity to complex projects. You’ll need at least 5 years’ experience in a planning role—ideally within infrastructure or utilities—with strong P6 skills (or similar), excellent communication, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Water sector experience is a bonus, but we welcome applicants from other industries with solid planning expertise. Please note: all shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a P6 test as part of the interview process. Package This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week. Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home.
