Hurworth House is recruiting a cook to join our catering team! We are seeking passionate individuals who can promote healthy eating and prepare varied meals that meet care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. In this role, you will be responsible for cooking, menu planning, shopping, and managing budgets within the home to deliver healthy, varied, and nutritious diets for young people and staff. You will also ensure that the kitchen and related areas are maintained to high hygiene standards, including food and equipment storage.

Hurworth House School provides specialist education for boys and girls with SEMH difficulties and autism. Our staff are highly trained, skilled, and experienced in supporting and educating our children, many with co-morbid diagnoses. The school caters to up to 80 students aged 5 to 19, with dedicated primary, middle, and upper school provisions.

An Level 3 qualification or equivalent is essential, along with previous experience in meal preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment, and the following qualities:

Organisation – You should be confident and organized in updating menus, managing dietary requirements, and reporting relevant information for the care of our young people.
