Children in Need
Location: Lancashire
Pay rate: £39 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a Children in Need Team. As part of this dedicated team, you will work in a busy and supportive environment, assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help. The Children in Need Team collaborates directly with children, families, and agencies including police and health services to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer required.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Your professional knowledge and experience will enable you to make assessments and decisions on appropriate interventions. Using your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet identified needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes through your interventions. Striving for best practices, you will aim to provide the best outcomes for children. Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking.
* Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or statutory/voluntary agency.
* Continuous improvement mindset to provide optimal outcomes.
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
* Experience working with diverse client groups within an agency.
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families.
* Committed to high-quality service delivery.
* Experience in multi-disciplinary, interagency work.
* Knowledge of legislation related to social work practice.
* 4+ years qualified experience.
Role Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage a caseload efficiently.
* Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
* Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students.
