Temporary Retail Area Manager (3‑Month FTC)

We’re seeking an experienced and people‑focused Temporary Retail Area Manager to support our retail operations over an initial three‑month fixed term contract. This is a key leadership role providing stability, consistency and operational excellence across our multi‑site retail stores.
About the Role
As a Temporary Retail Area Manager, you will lead and support a team of Store Managers across multiple locations, ensuring high standards of performance, compliance and customer experience. Your primary focus will be:
* Coaching, supporting and developing Store Managers
* Building strong, positive relationships across teams
* Driving a culture of accountability, wellbeing and high performance
Operational Standards & Process Compliance
* Ensuring all agreed processes, procedures and controls are consistently followed
* Maintaining high levels of retail operational excellence
* Supporting stores to achieve agreed income, expenditure and performance targets
* Providing hands‑on leadership across multiple retail locations
* Monitoring KPIs, identifying risks and implementing improvements
* Ensuring stores deliver exceptional customer and donor experiences
Charity Retail Experience (Desirable)
* Understanding the unique environment of charity retail
* Ability to work effectively with volunteers, donors and community partners
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience managing managers in a multi‑site retail environment
* Strong leadership, coaching and people‑development skills
* A calm, structured and solutions‑focused approach
* Experience delivering store‑level financial and operational targets
* Charity sector experience (desirable but not essential)
* Clean Driving Licence and has use of own vehicle
