The opportunity: Graduate Opportunity – Psychology – Aspiring Mental Health Worker - Trauma
This is an excellent chance for aspiring educational psychologists, youth justice workers, prison liaison officers, or behaviour mentors to gain first-hand experience in a specialist school environment. You will work with SEMH needs, Autism, and students with moderate to complex needs requiring personal care support. The schools will match your skills, interests, and aspirations.
These settings support some of the most vulnerable children and young people and can be challenging environments. To make the most of this opportunity, you should have the right objectives and motivations. With the right mindset and career goals, this can be a valuable first step after graduation.
Summary:
* Enabling students with diverse learning and behavioural needs to access quality education and achieve their objectives after leaving school
* Collaborating with art, occupational, and speech and language therapists to implement holistic, restorative approaches
* Using positive reinforcement and confidence-building strategies
* Providing classroom support and 1:1 assistance outside the classroom
* Excellent CPD opportunities with teachers and tutors, suitable if planning to pursue an MSc
* Work with like-minded Psychology graduates with similar goals
* Up to £90 per day, with ASAP start depending on availability, hours from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm
