We have a very exciting opportunity to join us as in this new role of Maths & Science Teacher (KS2). This is a term time, full-time, permanent position, however some level of flexibility may be given to the right candidate with regards to working hours. We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive, and dedicated teacher with a passion for Maths and Science to embrace our ethos - singulus pro fraternitate laborans – each striving for the good of all. You will initially teach Maths to two classes within our middle school (KS2) and Science within the middle school (KS2). The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and inspiring lessons that
meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every child in your class has the opportunity to thrive. You will play a key role in the academic and personal development of our pupils, using a creative curriculum and a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate.
Job Description
Academic
* Be willing to teach across the full age range within our Prep school
* To prepare and teach lessons in line with the agreed syllabus and schemes of work in Mathematics and Science. Ensuring that
the Mathematics and Science curriculum is delivered effectively throughout the School in an engaging and reflective way.
* To foster enjoyment and satisfaction in the study of Mathematics and Science by pupils
* Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Departments and wider School through sharing resources and good
practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional
development.
* To mark and assess pupils' work in line with school and departmental policy and to record assessments in a clear and useful
way.
* To support and encourage pupils to achieve excellence in their work
* Liaising with Learning Support Teachers and Head of Departments to provide tailored support to individual students, ensuring
every pupil can thrive
* To take part in subject departmental meetings as required by the Heads of Department
* To work closely with relevant Heads of Department to ensure departmental policies are met, schemes of work are taught
appropriately, records maintained, as well as resources being kept and updated
* Encouraging the use of ICT in the teaching of Mathematics and Science as a necessary skill
* Familiarity and expertise with Maths mastery approach
Departmental
* To take part in subject departmental meetings as required by the Heads of Departments
* To work closely with Heads of Departments to ensure departmental policies are met, schemes of work taught appropriately, and records and resources kept
and updated
* To liaise with other teachers in order to ensure effective continuity at the end of the year
Additional Duties
In addition, you will attend all school events as and when required by the Head :-
* Supervisory duties during the normal school week
* Attendance at Parent Meetings for the classes taught
* Attendance at Staff Meetings
* Residentials and school outings
* Attendance at open days ("School Events")
* Attendance at Staff INSET days
* Supervision and design of school trips in line with the school calendar
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience
* Well-qualified with QTS and proven skills and experience in Maths and Science teaching
* Thorough subject knowledge and understanding in Maths and Science
* Thorough knowledge of Maths and Science Curriculum (KS1/2/3)
* Ideally experience with CE, scholarship, or pre-test curriculam
The successful candidate will be required to complete child protection training online (arranged by the school) before they commence the role, where
they have not already received training in the past two years

* The ability to monitor progress and differentiate to ensure each boy reaches their potential
