Sustainability Consultant - Building Services Design
Location: London
Salary: £35k-£45k
A well-established building services design consultancy with offices across the UK is looking to grow its sustainability offering by hiring a Sustainability Consultant. Known for their technical expertise and collaborative approach, they deliver Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) engineering services across a range of sectors - from commercial and residential to healthcare and education. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team on projects that have a real environmental impact.
What you'll be doing:
1. Undertaking energy assessments and carbon modelling across new and existing buildings
2. Supporting compliance with UK Building Regulations (Part L, Part O)
3. Carrying out overheating analysis in line with CIBSE TM52 and TM59
4. Delivering thermal modelling and dynamic simulations using IES-VE
5. Supporting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Whole Life Carbon reporting using tools such as OneClick LCA
6. Contributing to the delivery of environmental assessments including BREEAM, WELL, and LEED
7. Working collaboratively with engineers and architects to integrate sustainable strategies into building designs
8. Staying up to date with industry standards, emerging legislation, and best practices
About you:
You'll ideally have 2-3 years' experience in sustainability or energy consulting, strong working knowledge of IES-VE, and experience supporting certification and carbon assessments. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about sustainable design and motivated to help clients reduce their environmental impact.
