This is an opportunity to work in newly developed service in NHS Lothian providing analysis of pathogens for public health interest in wastewater. This work develops work started during the COVID pandemic. The post would suit an enthusiastic, well organised and highly motivated individual. As part of a team, you will be involved in many highly skilled procedures and specialist testing. This most would require molecular skills, in particular extraction and real-time PCR. In addition, you will be expected to participate in several off bench duties.
Laboratory experience is essential. You should have excellent IT skills and have a relevant Foundation degree, an HND in Biological Science, or NVQ4.
Working hours are 37 per week, which includes flexible working.
