About the role
We are seeking an experienced Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Crawley and supporting projects across London including City of London and Canary Wharf. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator to play a key role in delivering high value commercial sprinkler projects.
As a Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial fire sprinkler installations and refurbishment projects.
The Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator will review drawings, specifications and tender documents, carry out detailed take offs and produce comprehensive quotations in line with current British Standards and LPCB regulations.
Working closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors, the Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator will ensure all estimates reflect labour, materials, equipment and compliance requirements. This Commerical Fire Sprinkler Estimator role offers the opportunity to take on senior level responsibility, mentor trainees and contribute to the continued growth of the estimating function.
Key responsibilities
• Collaborate and liaise with project managers, project engineers and subcontractors
• Review and fully understand the technical requirements of each project
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tailored proposals for commercial sprinkler systems
• Measure and quantify sprinkler heads, pipework and associated components
• Carry out site surveys where required
• Cost and assess contract values accurately
• Send enquiries to the supply chain and evaluate returned quotations
• Prepare tender documentation, presentations and technical submittals
• Mentor department trainees and provide technical guidance
• Ensure familiarity and compliance with LPCB regulations and BSEN12845
Skills and experience required
Essential
• Previous experience within the construction industry with knowledge of MEP services
• Experience working as a Senior Sprinkler System Estimator, Sprinkler Installation Estimating Engineer or similar
• At least 5 years of experience working on commercial sprinkler projects
• Familiarity with BSEN12845
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
Desirable
• LPCB qualifications
• Proficiency with CAD software
