Clinical Lead – Mill River Lodge
Shaw healthcare (Group) Ltd is seeking a Clinical Lead to support the Registered Manager and lead the onsite clinical coordination of the service at Mill River Lodge.
Pay & Working Hours
Salary: £28.61 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including 18 hours on floor.
Shift times: Flexible on a 4‑week rota, times vary including a 12‑hour floor shift (07:45‑20:00). You may be asked to cover shifts as a nurse in an emergency.

Responsibilities
* Assist the Service Manager in providing leadership to staff to deliver high‑quality care in a safe working and living environment.
* Coordinate and lead the nursing team to provide person‑centred care that promotes dignity, privacy, safety, independence and equality & diversity.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
* Ensure the smooth and effective running of the nursing units and liaise with external health professionals.
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision within the service.
* Accountable for infection control implementation and audit throughout the service.
* Act as a role model, approachable, and maintain visibility across all employee levels.
* Monitor and maintain standards of nursing and care provision in line with Shaw healthcare’s vision.
* Manage admissions and discharges per contract and liaise with external health professionals.
* Support the Service Manager with recruitment activities and onboarding of new employees.
* Conduct regular reviews with new employees during probation.
* Supervise and annually appraise employees ensuring performance standards are met.
* Mentor staff to enable success in their roles.
* Address complaints and suggestions within prescribed timescales.
* Support culture change and build employee engagement.
* Provide robust leadership in the absence of the Service Manager and escalating issues to senior support as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
* Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead or Senior Nurse.
* Experience supporting older adults.
* Strong knowledge of person‑centred care.
* Ability to assess residents’ needs and deliver care plans that promote independent living.
* Commitment to delivering high standards of care and optimizing resident wellbeing.
