Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated lead dental nurse to join our growing team. You will provide leadership and support to our dental nursing team and will assist our practice manager to ensure the smooth running of clinical services.
This position requires excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to the dental nursing team
· Oversee the clinical and administrative duties of the nursing team, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards (CQC/GDC)
· Support dentists, our practice manager and other team members in delivering excellent patient care
· Ensure all infection control procedures and clinical protocols are adhered to
· Conduct stock management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
· Assist with staff training, reviews, and development plans
· Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance processes
· Act as a point of contact for clinical queries and problem-solving
· Assist with rotas
· Perform chairside assistance and other routine dental nursing tasks as needed
What we are looking for:
· Qualified and GDC-registered dental nurse
· Minimum 2 years' experience in dental nursing
· Proven leadership or senior dental nurse experience preferred but not essential
· Excellent knowledge of infection control, compliance, and health and safety standards
· Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
· A proactive and supportive team player with a patient-centred approach
· Competency in IT systems (knowledge of EXACT dental software is beneficial).
