Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician who is looking for a travelling role, to join a special purpose machine manufacturer with a base just north of Manchester.
Key Aspects of the Maintenance Electrician role include
* Someone who has experience of working on special purpose machinery and is happy getting their hands dirty, knows what a safety system is and is good at dealing with customers
* Maintenance Electrician role could suit an electrician from a machinery background who is used to being on the tools, with experience of working with PLCs and variable speed drives and is also happy to travel globally
* Knowledge of Siemens PLCs is important – the successful Maintenance Electrician will be able to review code & interrogate
* Working on machines that have been designed with sustainability and the “circular economy” in mind, integrating biodegradable and compostable materials in their machine’s capabilities
* The company has a full order book that’s growing, they’re stable and when people join them, they typically stay for many years

* Role will suit a passionate, articulate Maintenance Electrician with strong verbal and written communication skills
* The company is big on staff welfare, training and development and making sure people who are travelling are well looked after – the Maintenance Electrician will travel as part of a team and would never be the sole person on site
* Could suit any type of educational/training background including apprenticeships, HNC/HNDs and degree level applicants
* As well as the above auto-enrolment pension contribution (which increases with the length of time you work for the company, maxing at 14%), there are 25 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays and a “working away” allowance (typically around £800/wk.) as well as £50/day to cover you for lunch & dinner when working on site
* The Service Manager estimates a rough split of 50/50 between spending your time at base vs time away on site. They have work coming up in the UK as well as internationally
The company is located just north of Manchester and is easily commutable from places such as Oldham, Bolton, Burnley, Ashton-under-Lyne, Denton, Stockport, Rochdale, Stalybridge, Bury, Middleton, Haslingden and Accrington.
