Interim Legal Counsel (Part-Time, 3-Month FTC)
We are seeking an experienced UK qualified solicitor to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified solicitor with post qualification experience in-house, with recruitment and employment law/commercial contracts experience. This role involves providing legal support to our General Counsel, handling reactive legal tasks, reviewing a range of commercial agreements and ensuring compliance with company policies as well as contract negotiation and contract review.
This role is pivotal in supporting our Bids & Contracts Team and the wider sales business in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our recruitment operations, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional service to our clients and candidates.

Working Pattern: Part-time, 3 days per week
Location: Hybrid — initial office attendance (3 days) for equipment collection and team meetings, followed by optional remote working
Engagement Type: 3-month fixed-term contract (FTC)
Payment: Via payroll or as an independent contractor (outside IR35)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Legal Counsel to provide short-term legal support to a leading global recruitment company. This role is ideal for a commercially focused legal professional with strong recruitment sector and/or employment law experience, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, solutions-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day legal advice to the contracts and compliance teams.
* Manage the central legal inbox, triaging and responding to incoming queries.
* Review, draft, and update a range of commercial and client contract templates.
* Advise on client pushbacks, variations, and amendments to standard terms.
* Support with ongoing legal processes and documentation tracking.
* Assist in preparing for upcoming legislative changes, including those affecting umbrella companies and employment law updates.
* Contribute to improving internal processes, including contract tracking and SharePoint organisation.
Essential Experience
* Strong background in the recruitment sector and/or employment law.
* In-depth knowledge of IR35, Conduct Regulations, Agency Workers Regulations, and general commercial contract law.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholder queries efficiently.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience with contract tracking systems and SharePoint.
* Knowledge of EU and EMEA commercial frameworks.
* Prior Company Secretarial experience or exposure.
