Part-Time Bookkeeper - Temporary - Permanent
Pay: £14.00 per hour
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and assisting with reporting and compliance. There is flexibility in working hours, with the option to complete the allocated hours over 4 or 5 days by agreement.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
2. Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and payments.
3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
4. Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
6. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data as required.
7. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in the relevant accounting software.
8. Provide documentation and reports to support external audits.
9. Process payroll accurately and on time.
10. Control and monitor credit accounts.
11. Manage the employee holiday schedule.
12. Verify delivery notes against invoices to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Requirements
13. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role (minimum 2 years preferred).
14. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
15. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
16. Solid understanding of accounts payable processes.
17. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
18. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and effectively.
19. Good numerical ability and understanding of accounting principles.
20. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
21. Qualifications (preferred): AAT or ICB certification.
