Production Manager – Precision Engineering (12-Month FTC)

Are you an experienced production leader with a passion for precision engineering? We’re supporting a growing medical device manufacturer to hire a Production Manager who will take full ownership of their manufacturing operations during an exciting period of transition and development. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll lead a talented team, drive performance, and embed strong operational discipline within a regulated environment.
About the Role
As Production Manager, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day operations across a precision machining and medical device manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Planning, Quality and OpEx to deliver safe, compliant and efficient production. You’ll lead front‑end programming through to machining and final output, ensuring quality, throughput and cost targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop Team Leaders and the wider production team
* Own daily manufacturing performance (output, scrap, yield, labour utilisation)
* Embed Standard Work, 5S, Lean tools and visual management practices
* Oversee machining operations, tooling readiness and equipment maintenance
* Support NCRs, CAPA and audit readiness
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, NPI, Planning and Quality
* Drive continuous improvement and structured problem‑solving initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Must‑Have:
* Strong machining knowledge (milling, turning, CNC processes)
* Experience leading teams in a regulated or high‑precision environment
* Strong focus on safety, quality, output and cost control
