School Business Manager

St James - Elstead is seeking a School Business Manager to join our friendly, supportive, and child focused school community.

This is a permanent role, working 25 hours per week,41 weeks per year. The working days and pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate with a blend of onsite and remote working.

About the Role

As our School Business Manager, you will play a key strategic and operational role in the life of the school, leading on finance and HR matters and supporting the smooth day to day running of the school.

You’ll be working alongside our highly experienced and capable administration team, who provide excellent support with operational tasks, allowing you to focus on the strategic elements of the role.

The successful candidate will

1. Ideally have experience previous experience of working at a strategic level in a business or finance environment, including setting and managing budgets
2. Have strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
3. Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft applications and management information systems
4. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
6. Experience in a school setting and/or a relevant accounting or School Business Manager qualification would be ideal but is not essential.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged. Please contact the headteacher by telephone or email to arrange a visit or to discuss the role informally.
