Role Overview:
As a Business Development Manager within the UK Sales team, you will be pivotal in driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients within sectors such as manufacturers, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, furniture, etc. You will collaborate closely with the UK Sales Manager and Branch Managers across Heathrow, Manchester, and Birmingham to implement strategic sales initiatives and deliver tailored logistics solutions to clients. You will primarily be visiting clients on field, spending approximately 1 day per week in the Sale office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive sales activities, including cold calling, networking, and using warm leads.
* Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
* Prepare and present competitive bids, RFQs, and quotations in collaboration with the UK Sales Manager.
* Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their logistics needs and providing tailored solutions.
* Collaborate with overseas offices and network agents to enhance service offerings and expand market reach.
* Utilise CRM systems to document sales activities, ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting.
* Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless implementation of customer solutions, including SOPs.
* Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Requirements:
* 3+ years sales experience
* Sold within logistics, freight, courier or parcels.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and securing new business.
* Commutable to Sale, Manchester
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
The package:
* Salary circa £35-45k gross per annum
* OTE - Can earn up to 4 x basic salary in bonus
