Building Services Senior Electrical Estimator

About the role
An established Mechanical and Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Services Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team based in Cirencester.
The role would suit a commercially aware estimator with strong technical knowledge of building services and experience delivering estimates across a range of commercial projects. You will work closely with senior management and contribute to the successful delivery of competitive and well-considered tenders.
Reporting directly to the Construction Director, key responsibilities will include:
Key responsibilities
* Reviewing tender documentation including specifications and employer’s requirements
* Preparing accurate and timely cost estimates covering labour, materials and subcontract packages
* Producing tenders for internal adjudication
* Assessing and vetting supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value is achieved
* Attending and leading tender adjudication meetings, presenting programme, pricing strategy and commercial risk
* Monitoring and reviewing project costs against tender allowances
* Maintaining and updating in-house costing and estimating software
* Liaising with main contractors, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal design and delivery teams

Experience and qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar estimating role within an M&E contractor or main contractor environment
* Strong understanding of building services pricing, design and delivery
* Ability to prepare estimates from drawings and specifications as a minimum
* Experience within commercial, office or warehousing projects would be advantageous
* Confident in estimating costs and programmes to meet tender deadlines
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
* Excellent numerical, analytical and written skills
* General understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and sustainability principles
