REED Education are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Cambridge, rated “Good” by Ofsted. The school is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of History to lead their successful department on a temporary basis from 13th April until 17th July, with the potential for the role to be extended.
The Role
As Head of History, you will:
* Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the History department
* Support and mentor teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
* Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development
* Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress
* Work closely with SLT and contribute to the wider school community
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Proven experience teaching History at secondary level
* Previous Head of Department or leadership experience is highly desirable
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to inspire both staff and students
* A commitment to maintaining the school’s high academic standards
