Manufacturing Team Lead — Cambridge, UK | Full-time | Permanent
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Team Lead to join a fast-growing technology business at the forefront of robotics and advanced manufacturing. This is a unique opportunity to lead a small team while directly shaping production processes and scaling manufacturing operations.
The Opportunity
As a Manufacturing Team Lead, you will combine technical expertise with team leadership to ensure the successful build, testing, and support of complex robotic or automation systems. You\'ll play a pivotal role in scaling production while staying actively involved on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of manufacturing technicians.
* Take a hands-on role in assembly, testing, and refurbishment of systems.
* Ensure safety standards, 5S, and robust work practices are followed.
* Support production planning to deliver new builds and upgrades on time.
* Collaborate with engineers to transfer new products into production.
* Drive continuous improvement and introduce lean manufacturing practices.
* Create and maintain documentation, including build instructions and skills matrices.
What We\'re Looking For
* Post-18 study in engineering, operations management, or a related technical subject.
* Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Hands-on technical experience in assembly, build, or testing.
* Demonstrated success in problem-solving and process improvement.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to balance process with flexibility.
* Full clean UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
