Rutherford Cross is recruiting on behalf of an ambitious FMCG business to appoint a Management Accountant. The business is dynamic and fast-moving, offering an exciting environment for someone who thrives on change and wants to make a tangible impact. Role Overview: The Management Accountant will support the finance function across transactional accounting, management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, and exposure to budgeting/forecasting. Over time, the role is designed to evolve, with increasing responsibility and exposure to management reporting and commercial finance. A succession plan is in place, providing a clear pathway to a more senior finance role as the individual develops and demonstrates capability. A proactive attitude and adaptability are as important as technical aptitude in this evolving environment. Key Responsibilities: Process and review transactional finance activities, including purchase invoices, sales invoices, and journals Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reconciliations Support financial reporting and analysis to provide insight into business performance Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making Develop and improve management reporting processes and tools Support audits and statutory reporting as required Embrace change and demonstrate a positive, flexible approach in a fast-evolving business Skills and Attributes: ACCA, CIMA part-qualified Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Experience in management accounts preparation, P&L and balance sheet reconciliations. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions. Excellent communication skills, able to present financial information clearly. Adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic about working in a changing business environment.
