Walton Medical Centre are looking for an experienced healthcare/GP assistant to join our busy and rewarding medical centre. This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on days and hours We are looking for someone who has experience of assisting patients with clinical requirements, liaising with clinical staff for healthcare needs, carrying out health checks and must have experience of using clinical systems. Main duties of the job will include: Providing face-to-face support to patients within our practices Carrying out clinical duties such as blood pressure checks, ECGs, phlebotomy, wound care, weight management, and NHS health checks B12, shingles, pneumococcal and flu injections- preferrable Supporting the nursing and GP team in chaperoning patients Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing Vaccine and cold chain storage monitoring and recording Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records Assisting with infection control and general health promotion Contributing to a positive and proactive team culture Support with clinical stock control management - clearing and restocking consultation rooms About the Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following: Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 Experience of working with, and building up working relationships with GP’s, nursing staff and admin staff Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, ability to work well on their own as well as working in a team A strong understanding of confidentiality About Us The Colte Partnership is very much ‘At The Heart of Primary Care’, being the largest GP Partnership in north east Essex, comprised of 8 local GP practices across Colchester and Tendring.
