Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners within a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to Year 1 pupils.
* Support pupils’ academic progress and promote their social and emotional development.
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning space for all children.
* Prepare and organise educational resources and materials.
* Supervise pupils during breaks and off-site activities.
* Monitor and report on student progress to the class teacher.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to support pupil well-being.
* Adhere to and promote the school’s values, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Profile:
* Previous experience working with young children, ideally in Year 1.
* A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships.
* Flexibility and a proactive attitude to meet pupils’ diverse needs.
* Basic understanding of child development and learning techniques.
* Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
