Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer, with experience in airfields design, to join our dynamic and diverse team that continues its strong expansion into major transport projects.
As part of our growing Transport Mobility Solutions (TMS) Division, you will develop design solutions in the transport sector from concepts and feasibility plans to design for planning application and construction details, using the latest digital design delivery methods. You will work with Design Managers to create detailed 3D models for transport projects, primarily focusing on airfield design but also supporting road and other transportation projects as required.
In this role you will design solutions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and clients’ specifications, collaborating with engineers, planners and other transport consultants to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable infrastructure for our clients.
Responsibilities
* Develop design solutions from concept through to construction details for airfield projects.
* Create and maintain detailed 3D models for airfield and road projects using Autodesk Civil 3D.
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers and external stakeholders to deliver project requirements and objectives.
* Produce detailed drawings and documentation for construction and design purposes.
* Perform quality checks on models to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
* Engage with specialists from various engineering disciplines, national or local authorities and stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
* Strong and demonstrable knowledge of airfield geometric design standards, including the RA 3500 series documents published by DIO and ICAO Annex 14.
* Experience developing and maintaining 3D models for airfield and road design projects using Autodesk Civil 3D.
* Collaboration with engineers and project managers to deliver project requirements.
* Production of detailed drawings and documentation for construction and design purposes.
* Conducting quality checks on models to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Desirable Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience as a Civil 3D Modeller, preferably in airfield design projects.
* Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and other relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
* Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
