We are seeking an experienced and motivated Paediatric Audiology Team Lead to provide clinical, operational and professional leadership for our paediatric audiology service.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced audiologist to lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality diagnostic and rehabilitation services for infants, children and young people with hearing needs. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care while supporting service development and workforce growth.
The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership, support complex case management and work collaboratively.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide clinical and operational leadership for the paediatric audiology team.
2. Deliver highly specialist paediatric audiology assessments and rehabilitation services.
3. Support and supervise audiology clinicians, promoting high standards of clinical practice and professional development.
4. Lead on complex paediatric cases and specialist assessments including electrophysiological testing
5. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care for children and families.
6. Lead service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
7. Ensure the service meets national standards and best practice guidance for paediatric audiology.
8. Support workforce planning, service sustainability and innovation in service delivery.
9. Work alongside the IQIP's lead to obtain accreditation

10. Significant post-qualification clinical experience in audiology with substantial experience in paediatric audiology practice.
11. Experience of undertaking and interpreting a wide range of paediatric audiological assessments, including electrophysiological testing
12. Experience of managing complex paediatric cases and multidisciplinary working.
13. Experience of supervising, mentoring or supporting junior staff and students.
14. Experience participating in audit, service evaluation or quality improvement initiatives

15. Highly developed clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in paediatric audiology.
16. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical information to children, families and professionals.

Knowledge

21. In-depth knowledge of paediatric audiology assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation, including electrophysiological testing
22. Knowledge of national guidance, standards and best practice relating to paediatric audiology and hearing screening.
23. Understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management processes.
24. Knowledge of hearing technology and its application in paediatric populations.
25. Awareness of safeguarding principles relating to children and young people
Qualifications
Essential criteria
26. BSc (or equivalent) in Audiology, Healthcare Science
27. MSc in Audiology, Advanced Audiology or equivalent postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience at an advanced clinical level.
28. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist or registration with the Academy for Healthcare Scientist (AHCS) as an Audiologist / Clinical Scientist.
29. Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to paediatric audiology.
