The Opportunity:
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced academic with a passion for leading the development of the next generation of prescribing pharmacists working in clinical practice? We are expanding our staffing base in growth areas and are looking for a colleague with research experience to lead the Department of Pharmacy Practice within the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences.
The role involves the continued development of various professional programmes within the school, currently centring on the MPharm and Pharmacist Independent Prescribing courses. You will lead colleagues to ensure: the delivery of high-quality teaching; development and delivery of innovative learning and assessment to achieve excellent student experience and outcomes, and; the development of research across the department, working with colleagues to enhance research‑informed teaching associated within the pharmacy subject area.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* GPhC registered pharmacist with research development experience;
o Ideally, in possession of a postgraduate diploma or above in clinical pharmacy or equivalent and/or a GPhC accredited independent prescribing qualification (or nearing completion of);
o Excellent and collegiate leadership style to develop a strong team to enhance research‑informed teaching;
o Commitment to fairness, inclusivity and the promotion of equality and diversity;
o Enthusiasm, resilience, flexibility and adaptability.
