We have immediate opportunities for Port Operatives in Middlesbrough, with both full-time and part-time positions available.
About the Role
As a Port Operative, you'll be a vital part of the UK's supply chain - supporting vessel discharge and product distribution. This is a physically active role requiring strong safety awareness, adaptability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Stevedore / Quayside operations
Operating plant and heavy machinery:
Forklifts
Payloaders
Shovels
Tugs
Mobile Harbour Cranes
Gatehouse and weighbridge duties
Traffic marshalling and vehicle banking
Stock control and accurate inventory counts
Industrial cleaning and general site housekeeping
Supporting safe loading/unloading of cargo
Using radio or hand signals to communicate during operations
Experience in the following areas is highly beneficial:
Port operations or stevedoring
Plant driving or warehouse work
Crane operation, traffic control, or vehicle banking
Essential Requirements:
Valid EMSS, CSCS, CCSNG, or IOSH certification
Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
Strong health & safety awareness
Flexible and team-oriented attitude
Willing to work outdoors in all weather
Eager to learn and develop new skills
Desirable Qualifications & Licences:
(Valid or expired)
Counterbalance Forklift Truck
Shovel / Payloader
Tug / Mobile Plant
HGV
