Discus Thermal Limited is an ambitious and fast-growing thermal and mechanical services company, successfully trading for 5 years and built on strong financial foundations. Working alongside five full-time subcontractors, we are now entering our next phase of growth and making our first dedicated office hire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take ownership of the accounts function and play a key role in supporting the Director as the business continues to expand.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & General Office Administrator to manage our accounts function and support the day-to-day running of the business.
This is a key position within the company and ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, organisation, and being part of a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Duties:
* Managing accounts payable and receivable
* Reconciling bank statements
* Preparing VAT returns
* Maintaining accurate financial records
* Assisting with payroll processing
* Supporting month-end and year-end procedures
Office Administration Duties:
* Answering phone calls and responding to emails
* Managing filing systems and company records
* Ordering office supplies
* Scheduling appointments and meetings
* Supporting the Director with general administrative tasks
Requirements
* Previous experience in bookkeeping and office administration
* Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work independently and take initiative

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,420.00-£36,932.65 per year
