Pinewood Parish Council Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP8 3SL Salary: £26,899 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent Reference: 0712 Your role An exciting new opportunity for a Community Hall and Events Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our Community Hall, organise events and entertainment, be responsible for private and regular hirers and oversee management of the member’s bar. You will be expected to have some flexibility so that you are able to support the day-to-day running of the Community Hall and the events held therein. Your responsibilities In this role you will: be responsible for the line management of other Community Hall staff such as Caretakers and Bar Supervisor; ensuring rotas for Bar Staff are planned and time sheets are completed where applicable be responsible for interacting with new and existing hirers, managing bookings and ensuring payments are received in a timely manner be responsible for developing and managing the in-house events programme such as booking entertainment, marketing the events, organising ticket sales, ensuring any furniture and/or equipment / decoration and food arrangements are made be responsible for the smooth running of the members bar and increasing bar membership numbers to attend monthly Hall Committee meetings to report/ discuss your events/hires and have any expenditure approved manage the Pinewood Community Hall Facebook page and update with regular advertising of events. be the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) licence holder produce a wedding brochure and act as wedding co-ordinator during these hires be responsible for the maintenance of the Community when required, i.e., PAT testing, boiler service, fire and security alarm maintenance, cleaning of the air conditioning, any emergency call outs and ensure maintenance contracts and licences are renewed. You will need: to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, especially patience and empathy to be proactive and able to prioritise tasks and manage your time, whilst working as part of a team to be able to communicate effectively and with credibility to a wide variety of stakeholders to be able to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining a great attention to detail. About us Pinewood is a large parish within the Babergh District of Suffolk, located on the southwestern fringe of Ipswich. Whilst the parish is a mainly urban area of around 5000 inhabitants and 2000 homes, it also benefits from having Belstead Brook Park within the parish, a pleasant place to walk and observe the wildlife. In 2008, Pinewood Parish Community Hall was constructed to provide a venue for various community groups and activities. The parish also benefits from a Baptist Church, Doctors Surgery, Hairdressers, Convenience Store, Takeaway, a privately run Nursery, a school for Children with disability, and a Sixth Form College. There is also a large retail park within the boundary. We currently have 7 councillors serving on the Parish Council, with 3 sub-committees who focus on management and support of the Community Hall, the Car Park, and Human Resources.
