Karen Toon transitioned from working in a school kitchen to becoming an assistant manager at our new Balsall Common shop, and she is enjoying the opportunity to meet and assist customers.
Previously working in an office and then in a school kitchen for 12 years, Karen sought a new challenge as her children grew older.
"My children are getting older, so I wanted more flexibility. When I saw the advert for this role, I was very interested. Learning about the hospice convinced me to apply, and I am so glad I did," said Karen.
She enjoys meeting customers and working with volunteers, finding fulfillment in engaging with people and brightening her days.
