Overview
We are seeking a Supply Chain Demand Planner with a can-do attitude who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and willing to go the extra mile for customers. The department handles demand planning and stock replenishment interfacing with customers, suppliers and all Best Food Logistics functions.
Working within a dynamic supply chain team, you will deliver great service through outstanding availability and inventory control with a proactive approach to supply chain management in partnership with customers, delivering commercial benefit through the supply chain.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders; responsible for successful delivery of inventory budget (~£3m per week) and achievement of product availability target (~99.5%+ daily).
* Identify and implement initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, challenge and influence suppliers to improve service, responsiveness and efficiency.
* Address issues as they arise, creating win-win scenarios and escalating to the line manager or key stakeholders for support/resolution when needed.
* Balance business goals with customer demands, focusing on operational efficiency (cost) and customer expectations.
* Ensure all business rules for the Demand, Forecasting, Replenishment and Planning (DFRP) solution meet customer and business goals, reducing risk and targeting improvement within the supply chain.
* Deliver forecast accuracy targets across item classifications, supported by historical sales trends and other demand influencers, with excellent communication to customers and industry knowledge.
* Lead customer promotions and menu changes, manage customer/supply chain projects, and support wider business initiatives including supplier development, new contract introduction and migration opportunities.
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, becoming a subject matter expert in Slim4 replenishment, driving continuous improvement and leading training sessions for colleagues.
* Ensure customer needs are met through delivery of agreed targets (KPIs) and consider end-to-end and wider business context in supply chain decision making.
* Collaborate with National Account Managers to determine appropriate actions regarding customer inventory (e.g., delisted products and held stock).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Analytical mindset with strong data analysis and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Excellent knowledge of supply chain systems and processes in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
* Ability to multi-task, stay calm, and thrive in a fast-moving environment with awareness of leading edge industry developments.
* Ability to influence at all levels, particularly regarding collaborative solutions delivery.
* Advanced Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel.
* Degree level education or equivalent, with a minimum of 2–3 years of supply chain and replenishment experience with capability to demonstrate industry best practice.
* Flexibility to work some weekends including bank/public holidays on a rota basis.
