Responsibilities
* Deliver Principal Designer / CDM Services on independent commissions and wider project delivery.
* Produce pre‑construction information, H&S files, and other associated CDM documents.
* Ensure designer compliance with CDM 2015.
* Review contractors’ documentation including tenders and construction phase plans.
* Interface with clients and design teams on a project basis.
* Conduct site H&S inspections and audits.
* Advise clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues.
* Champion business development of CDM services within the region.
* Keep updated with current legal developments in construction and related law.
Qualifications
* Member of APS, IOSH, or CIOB (or working toward membership).
* Relevant design or construction qualification (preferred but not essential).
* NEBOSH National or Construction Certificate (or working toward it).
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety legislation.
* Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
* H&S training capability an advantage.
* Strong communication skills, experience in oral and written communication at all levels.
* Client‑facing experience at a strategic/operational level.
* Strong planning and organising skills; able to prioritise workload, deadlines, finances and manage change.
* Effective problem resolution skills; solution‑oriented and able to manage problems and complaints assertively.
* Team‑working skills; ability to work collaboratively to achieve targets.
* Current driving licence.
* Willingness to support projects across several sectors, including travel and occasional out‑of‑hours work.
