Accommodation Case Worker
Location: Fife-wide (Base: Kirkcaldy)
Hours: 36 hours per week (Shift pattern includes sleepovers)
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Contract Type: Ongoing Temporary (with potential for long-term opportunity)

Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Accommodation Case Worker to join their Fife-wide Core and Cluster team. Based in Kirkcaldy, you’ll work directly with individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of housing instability, helping them move toward settled living and reconnect with their communities.

Key Responsibilities
Housing Support Duties
Assess referrals and determine support needs and risks in collaboration with the Lead for Accommodation Services.
Provide one-to-one support, enabling individuals to identify and achieve personal goals using person-centred approaches.
Apply safe working practices for clients with varying support needs, including those with complex vulnerabilities.
Manage individual caseloads and support transitions from temporary accommodation to more permanent solutions.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and performance data to evidence outcomes and meet compliance standards.
Encourage and collect service user feedback to ensure ongoing improvement and satisfaction.
Housing Management Assistance
Support clients with completing occupancy documentation and Housing Benefit forms.
Promote tenancy sustainment and compliance with accommodation standards.
Team Working
Collaborate across services to ensure joined-up, person-led support.
Work within a rota, including evenings and sleepover shifts, to ensure consistent and safe service delivery.
Share positive outcomes and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Promote effective partnerships with external agencies and community resources.
Learning & Professional Development
Take ownership of your continuous professional development through reflective practice and training.
Comply with the SSSC Code of Conduct and maintain registration in line with Fitness to Practice requirements.
Develop communication and engagement skills that promote trust and resilience in those you support.
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in a client-facing role within housing, health, or social care
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs such as substance use, mental health, trauma, or learning difficulties
Minimum SVQ2 in a relevant field (or evidence of working towards this qualification)
Commitment to registration under the SSSC Fitness to Practice scheme within the required timescale
Knowledge of homelessness and its wider social causes
Understanding of strength-based practice and ability to apply reflective techniques
Proven ability to use a case management approach
Confidence working within professional boundaries while managing sensitive or complex issues
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to actively listen, collaborate, and empower individuals
Ability to write accurate, timely, and objective case notes
Proactive in seeking out information and evidence-based practices to support service delivery
Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle (business insurance required), or the ability to travel throughout Fife
Emotional resilience and the ability to manage your own and others’ emotions professionally
