Are you looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor role? Interested in working for a leading Construction Company? VANRATH is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within the Building Maintenance department for a large, leading Construction Company in Crawley, West Sussex.
Remuneration: £55,000 - £65,000 + company car / fuel / benefits package

Overview: Lead all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects, focusing on profitability, legal and contractual compliance, and proactive management of commercial issues. Oversee applications and valuations, ensure timely payments, and align activities with company policies. Play a key role in guiding commercial strategy and project delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection. Provide strategic insights to maximize profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Lead contract preparation, negotiation, and finalization. Ensure contractual obligations are met and legal risks minimized.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement processes, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors and suppliers to ensure value and alignment with strategy.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct valuations, manage payments, and prepare final accounts. Ensure accurate financial reporting and risk/opportunity identification.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks to safeguard the company's interests.
The Ideal Person:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Proven track record in senior roles managing high-value projects
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices
* Advanced knowledge of contract law, building regulations, and health & safety
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills
* Social Housing or maintenance experience preferred
* Good IT skills
* Strong time management and ability to work under pressure
