Rate of Pay: £46.53 - £61.45 per hour
Summary:
An experienced Service Manager is required to provide leadership across key areas of Children's Services, supporting the delivery of high-quality safeguarding and social care services for children, young people and families. The role will oversee operational performance, quality assurance, service improvement, and partnership working to ensure positive outcomes and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
This is a senior leadership position requiring a confident and credible professional who can lead teams, drive performance, and respond effectively to emerging challenges within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage service delivery across Child Protection, Referral and Assessment, Children's Social Work, and Permanency Services, including Fostering.
* Provide leadership and support to Team Managers and frontline practitioners.
* Drive continuous service improvement and ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice.
* Monitor and improve performance against key service indicators, targets, and inspection frameworks.
* Oversee quality assurance activities, audits, and service reviews to maintain high standards of practice.
Qualifications:
* Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
Essential Requirements:
* Significant experience within statutory Children's Social Care services.
* Experience managing Child Protection, Assessment, Safeguarding, or Permanency services.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and children's social care frameworks.
* Proven experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience driving service improvement and managing performance against key indicators.
