Salary: £35,000 per annum + overtime available + Monday to Friday. 40 hours per week. 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays. Attractive pension scheme, private medical and other company benefits.

Role and responsibilities
* As the Diesel Engineer, carry out fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines.
* Undertake remote diagnostic work to obtain, evaluate and interpret data to identify likely faults before physically inspecting the engine.
* Provide product expertise for diesel engines in rolling stock and ensure performance and availability through fault-finding and condition monitoring.
* Contribute to customer-facing service delivery and value-added services in a safety-critical environment.
* Engage in pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol screening where required.
* Work in the field at customer locations; support and train customers on engineering solutions as part of a global brand.
Ideal candidate / qualifications
* Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and propulsion systems and associated electrical control technology (ECUs).
* NVQ Level 2 (minimum) with demonstrable fault diagnostics and remote diagnostics experience.
* Ability to interpret data, diagnose faults, and perform corrective action; comfortable with onsite, hands-on work and remote diagnostics.
* Eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo pre-employment checks; suitable for roles in highly safety-critical environments.
* Open to applications from ex-forces personnel (RAF, Royal Navy, British Army) or engineers from Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or Bus sectors seeking a move into Rail.
