Overview
Connect Appointments has a new opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our retail and distribution client in Livingston, West Lothian. This is a full-time permanent role centred on supporting the warehouse team to deliver divisional business objectives, managing the client’s Distribution Centre and a large team of Warehouse Operatives. The position operates on a back shift (Monday to Friday, 11am to 9pm) with a salary of £33,500 to £35,500 per annum (DOE) and a range of benefits.
Responsibilities
* Reporting directly to the Operations Manager
* Managing the team of managers and warehouse operatives
* Keeping all reports up to date
* Maintaining discipline in terms of productivity, timekeeping, and rest breaks
* Maintaining high standards of health & safety and security
* Motivating and directing staff to help them meet their goals
* Ensuring work is allocated and completed to the highest standard within required timescales
* Upholding the business’s policies and decision making when challenged by staff
* Ability to implement procedures
* Assisting with training and mentoring to create a dynamic and multiskilled workforce
* Ordering consumables and maintaining suitable inventory levels
* Ensuring KPI targets are achieved, productivity is maximised, and accuracy is improved
* Operating flexibly and responding quickly to change and opportunities to get things done
* Being a responsible key holder and being placed on the call-out list
* Attending and supporting grievance meetings, completing RTW (return to work) forms, and supporting disciplinary hearings
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience as a Warehouse Manager in a large, fast-paced retail distribution operation
* Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of warehouse operations (including stock/inventory processes)
* Proven experience of change management leadership
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
* Experience of utilizing the latest technology in a distribution environment
* Experience delivering supply chain projects is desirable but not essential
* Microsoft Office and data entry skills
* Experience within retail or FMCG is beneficial
* Able to manage and motivate a team of workers
